spirulina popcorn

What can be better than popcorn for a movie night at home or late night snacking! Homemade popcorn can be made into a healthy snack by adding coconut oil, spirulina, or nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Servings: 1 bowl

Ingredients:

- 1/3 cup popping kernels
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp Hawaiian Spirulina powder
- salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Heat coconut oil in a sauce pan. Test the heat of the oil by putting 3-4 kernels in oil. If it pops, the oil is ready. Add all of the kernels and cover the pot. Take the pot off the heat for 20 seconds, then put back on the stove. When the popping sound becomes less frequent, empty the popcorn into a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle spirulina over the popcorn and toss in the bowl
